So, this is the stage that we are at now in our long process of renovating. Sean woke up one morning and decided the time was right to take down the basement. He went out to Revy and purchased a large role of plastic sheeting to drape over the portion of the basement that we are not dealing with just yet and the stairway. I was pleased about this because this meant that the dust (or at least not as much) would not make it's way upstairs during destruction. In order to not disturb the protective membrane around the basement, I took these shots through the plastic. Once the take-down was complete, the clean-up had to follow. Sean spent another day hauling all of the debris outside and onto his treasured trailer to take to the dump. Soon after, the old blue hide-a-bed that we inherited from my parents (which we were grateful for all these years!) made the same trip to the dump. Apparently no one wanted it as a donation. I probably should have taken one last photo of the old blue in order to document all the memories surrounding it. I guess now I'll have to search through my photos to see if I have a good shot of the sofa in order to tell its story.
