Digital Papers: Cosmo Cricket's Nutmeg at jessicasprague.com
So, this past weekend, my baby turned 15! She is still a vibrant, energetic, fun-loving blondie with sparkling blue eyes! She gave us a run for our money as a baby by not sleeping for more than 15 minutes at a time. Sean and I did tag-team through the nights, each taking turns to sit with her and encourage her to fall asleep (but usually it was just us falling asleep).
When she was a toddler, she was into everything...including the fridge at 3:00 in the morning! She loved to ride her bike and play at the park (where evidently, she broke her arm the first time). Ashley always loved to tease and play tricks on people and laugh with those around her. She and her sister were always staging magic shows and 'dances' that they would perform for us.
As a young lady, Ashley proved she was self-regulated by choosing to do homeschooling rather than the traditional way. She got herself up in the morning, set her own deadlines and did her own research. Those days at home boosted her self-esteem and confidence. This past fall, Ash chose to attend Bucket Brigade, which is a form of firefighting training for young adults. She was the youngest in the group...and the only girl! But her confidence and love of adventure didn't let her quit! Equipped with skills she had gained in the previous years of homeschooling, Ashley is now thriving in the regular school system again...and she smiles bigger than ever!
Throughout her 'pre-adolescent' years, Ashley acquired a love of cooking and baking. She is very responsible in the kitchen and has created many a masterpiece for us. Her favorite experience is making Norwegian lefse with her grandmother. She is thinking that she may like to pursue cooking after high school.
Of course, her most favorite thing to do is to wrestle with her dad! For the first time ever, Sean is looking at his daughter eye to eye (she grew taller than me long ago!) and meeting his match!
Ashley, we celebrate you...who you were, what you have become and who you will continue to be. We love you more than you know and we are proud of you! Mmmmuuaahh!
On another note...I started my December Daily today, so tune in tomorrow for a post on my December 1st layout!
