So, Day 10 was a very special day.
For the first time, we went as a family to cut down our Christmas tree in the woods!

I adhered the above journaling block to the actual permit that my husband acquired. I simply folded it in half to fit on the page so now I can open it and read the information about our day.

Alongside the permit and journaling, I trimmed down a baseball card page protector and printed several pics of our adventures...

I inserted more pics on the back as well. In two of the spaces, I adhered various embellishments from the Crate Paper Peppermint pack.

Next, I created a page from the map of the area that we were given. I love maps and was determined to use it in some way.My goal was to trim it down to fit on a 6x8 page. However, the map covered an area larger than my 6x8 page, so I had to fold it a bit.

I trimmed a piece of patterned paper and folded over a small flap along the right side, which I sewed with my machine to hold in place.
This allowed me to fold my map just a bit to tuck it in, but I can still untuck it, extend it, and view the entire area that we traversed.

I also added a little tab tied with baker's twine to help guide the paper when I am tucking it back in.
Finally, I wanted to draw attention to the actual spot where we found our tree...

I started by stamping a red circle around the area, then embossed it with embossing powder and my heat tool. On graph paper, I drew a speech bubble to write my little saying, trimmed it, and adhered it directly to my map.
So glad we decided to add this adventure into our holiday events...and so glad I have it documented!
