So, I finally got around to posting this little rock family idea.
Last summer I gathered a few pebbles that resembled my family while on vacation.
I also picked up a shadowbox frame from the dollar store and gathered some simple supplies before starting.
First, I removed the glass from my frame. You would only need to do this if the glass is not flush with the back of the frame, mine was. I also took out the back board with the stand.
Next, I cut a sheet of cardstock the same size as this back board and adhered the two together.
My frame came with a matt board of sorts, so I adhered that over the cardstock.
Gently, I began laying out the little pebbles resembling my family until I had a somewhat pleasing formation. I ended up using a piece of driftwood that I had found instead of a rock for everyone to stand on. Once I liked the formation, I used a glue gun to adhere everything in place.
Then I added the smallest pebbles for heads. We have only one blond one in our family.
Lastly, I added the word 'Family' in my own handwriting for a finishing effect before returning it into the frame.
Now, I have to decide whether to have it hang on the wall beside my front door...
Or rest on the console beside the lamp?
Hope your summer is going fabulously!
