So, I was privileged to join a small group of adults and a large group of students on an Art Walk in my city.
To kick off the year, students in our integrated arts program spent a day walking around the downtown area of Calgary. Their path was prescribed, their assignment was set and their eyes were opened to possibility.
As a volunteer on this trip, I took in the sights and sounds. I always love discovering a great new park, sign or building and this particular day was full of pleasant discoveries.
This is a small representation of what I captured on this wonderful day. As you can see, Instagram is my friend, although I did carry along my DSLR to document with as well.
It truly was a day to remind myself of what my own city has to offer. I dream of traveling the world, but I have so many wonderful experiences right at my doorstep as well. There were four different routes that our students were on during the Art Walk. My route was amazing so now I want to get my hands on the other three routes to do on my own!
If you haven't done so in a while, I encourage you to get out and explore your own city or town. You may be surprised by what you discover...
