So, I made myself a Vision Board, or at least the start of one.
On February 1st I broke down and signed up for Ali Edwards' online One Little Word class through Big Picture Classes. I have taken the class for the past two years, but didn't want the same experience this year. However, this year she changed up the monthly assignments and I am so glad I decided to join in again!
This month, the assignment was to create a Vision Board for your word. For some time now, I have wanted to make a unique bulletin board for my craft room, but just did not have the inspiration for how to do it. This OLW assignment gave me the kick I needed.
Back two summers ago, I spied this vintage frame at an antique store in the town near where my parents live. The price tag, a whopping $70, kept me from taking it home that day (we don't seem to have the wicked prices that most of you ladies in the United States seem to find). However, I could not get this beauty out of my mind and I tossed it over and over in my mind for days. Finally I gave in and asked my mom (bless her) to pick it up for me.
And then it sat for two years.
But no longer. This was the push that I needed. I found this lovely flowery fabric at IKEA, picked up a piece of foam core from Michaels and put it all together in one evening!
And as you can see, I didn't stop there. The surrounding items were all little projects that I had piling up for such a moment as this, but I had no board to work around. Once the board was completed, I dug out my Embroidered Heart Map, Just Do It word art, and Create word art to hang as well. The blue wave painting, butterfly shadow box and old slate chalkboard are other items that I dug up to help balance the look of the display.
So, now I am ready. I am busy collecting the items that will actually go on my Vision Board and will share the finished OLW assignment soon!
