This was a very full week, with our Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday and a Ladies Retreat on the weekend. In order to fully document these two big events, I added an insert this week. The front of the insert is dedicated to our Thanksgiving gathering.
To create this insert, I trimmed down a 12x12 pocket page and sewed a strip of patterned paper along the edge for the holes. Then just slipped in three 4x6 photos in those pockets. I also added a little plastic tab to the right edge of the insert to help turn the page.
On the spread itself, I included a photo of our very large turkey as a connection leading the eye into the Thanksgiving insert.
My date card this week was printed on patterned paper, then I added a little journaling spot which houses the dates for this week.
And of course, through the center are my Collect Cards for the week.
Turning over the center insert, is the right spread.
This insert is the home for my photos from a Ladies Retreat that I attended on the weekend in Banff.
It is always so great to get away with ladies and have times of sharing our lives, learning from one another, shopping and a whole lot of laughing!
As part of a service act, we decorated cupcakes to be delivered to the men at the Calgary Dream Centre. They were quite the sight when we lined them all up...
As an added extra, I included a postcard from the hotel in Banff. Love the colours here and how they pop on my otherwise neutral spread this week.
And I just love this photo of my sister and I. She is the one who invited me on this Ladies Retreat. Love her to death and it was so great to spend the weekend with her.
Finally, I wanted to document the look of my house and yard in all its glorious fall colours. And I am glad that I took this photo when I did because soon after we had our first snow and all the red leaves on the hedge have fallen.
Still very much loving this process and this project...
