So, I finally got my hands on Flow Magazine.
This is a magazine for paper lovers and I love paper. The magazine originates in the Netherlands and so is written in Dutch. There is also a French and German version. I was first made aware of the German version through my IG friend Andrea (her Instagram and blog). I had never seen one in person, but since I was traveling to Europe, I thought that just maybe I would find one in French, because at least I could read that.
After buying this German copy, I did some searching online and found out that there is in fact an English version now too. So I immediately ordered 3 back copies.
But this copy will forever be special to me, just because of the story behind how it came to me.
The colours in this issue of Flow are just about the exact colour palette in the digital kit All Things Considered by One Little Bird for February. So it was easy to capitalize on the colour scheme. I love the flower print of this yellow patterned paper, so I made it a full background to this layout leaving just a hint of white (the original TN page) space around the edges. The yellow background really draws out the yellow circle on the cover of the magazine, which says Special Issue.
Because the cover design is very bold, colourful and busy, I wanted to keep the rest of the layout simple. Under the photo I adhered a pretty floral banner, on which I stamped the date. Upon viewing this layout, most people's eyes will be drawn first of all to the photo, then the banner with the date just below the photo. To draw the eye back up to the top of the opposite page I added another banner, this time in green. And of course then I added my journaling. I didn't feel like this page needed anything else and so I stopped there.
