So, I've been playing! I am taking an awesome photo editing course from
Jessica Sprague. Today's lesson was about creating a vintage, hand-tinted look on a photo. I did not go extreme, but what do you think for my first try? Here is the original to compare...
I just really love learning new things that I can play around with!
Back in January of this year I took an online digital SLR photography class through Karen Russell called
The Photographer's Workshop. I can tell you, it was worth every penny! I had owned my dSLR camera for about a year and had no idea what all the buttons and dials were for. Now, after taking Karen's class and practicing for a few months, I feel that the shots that I take have greatly improved. The above shot is proof! I visit Karen's
blog every day to see the shots that she has posted of her family. I am constantly inspired and continue to learn from her. Karen is opening registration for her next two courses starting on Monday. Check it out if you are at all interested in improving your skills on your SLR camera. She really has a way of explaining things so that they make sense and she gives
feedback on the assignments that you do! So helpful and educational! It is like she is just in the next room!
Here are a few more shots of Jess from that same day - thanks to Karen!
And my favorite...
I still have a lot to learn and practice, but I have more knowledge and confidence after taking Karen's course. I really, really recommend it!
There is also a gal on Jessica Sprague's website (mentioned above) that offers a photography course online. Her name is Candice Stringham and her class is called
Oh Shoot! Beginning Photography. Her registration is currently full, but you can be on a wait list and she will notify you when the next class comes available. I am considering taking this one too, as repetition is a good thing, and I am sure that Candice will offer a little different perspective than Karen.
I am thankful for all opportunities to grow my skills! How 'bout you?
